[Properties]: White powder or lump, relative density: 2.534, melting point: 1109 °C. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. .The water solution of it assumes alkalinity.When at 25 °C, ,the solubility of 100 gram water is 187 gram.The Ph value of the water solution is 10.2 when the concentration of which is1% Potassium pyrophosphate has all the properties of the other condensed phosphates.
[Use]: It is chiefly used ,instead of sodium cyanide,in noncyanide electroplating as a complex.Also used as a pretreatment agent in electroplating and in pyrophosphate electrolyte,and as constituent in preparation of clothes detergent,metal-surface-washing and bottle-cleansing detergent,or as a additive to all kinds of detergent. Besides,it can also be used as clay dispersing agent in china-ware industry and as dispersing agent and buffer in pigment and dyestuff. And it is used to separate and remove the small quantity of trivalence iron ions left in water in bleach-dyeing industry so as to improve the bleaching and dyeing quality.
